Magic Lantern Moves into PBC
With the new year came a new location for Magic Lantern Playware as they made the Patton Block Center, located on the north side of the Public Square, their new home.

Incorporation, New Tenant
he Patton Block Center has now incorporated. The center will still retain the same name (Patton Block Center), but the building is now owned by Patton Block, Inc., an Illinois corporation. The new corporate entity will allow the PBC to truly become "community owned," as well as allowing much more flexibility in the management of renovation and technology investment dollars.

Monmouth Takes First Steps To Education Center
The Monmouth Technology Initiative (MTI) has won approval to sponsor an AmeriCorps volunteer to spend a year full-time to set up and run a computer education center in Monmouth. The AmeriCorps volunteer, working through the Rural Technology Corps, will work to set up a technology education center designed to bring computer skills to underserved members of the community and will also work with community leaders in public-private initiatives to remove the digital divide in Monmouth.
