Vision
The Patton Block Center grew out of blending of two unique visions. First was to create a nexus in Monmouth in which a new type of economic development could flourish—the rural, technology-based microenterprise. Second was the desire to revitalize the downtown area by restoring a historic landmark on the town square.
These visions blended together into the Patton Block Center. The project which began as only a few notes on paper in 1999 became a reality in late 2000. Over the next six years, the Patton Block building would undergo a transformtion. Now, the historic building houses eight business serving the economic health of our community and providing a regional home for technology development and innovation.
When the Patton Block building was first constructed in 1891, it was the most technologically advanced building in Monmouth. Now, over a century later, the building has come full circle once again and is leading the way as Monmouth forges ahead into the twenty-first century.
